Many safety incidents occur in these spaces, such as vehicle accidents, theft, vandalism, and other hazards. Establishing clear boundaries and visible signage helps communicate expectations and reinforces that school property is a protected space.

Designing and maintaining this perimeter with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles strengthens overall campus safety.
