Class Description: The art of opening combination locks, without prior knowledge or information as to the present combination. It does not cause any damage and leaves no evidence of entry. Each student will learn when to manipulate and will understand how picking, reading and impressioning are related to safe manipulation. The class will cover proper combination lock terminology. The student will become competent in dialing diagnostics and visualization of the internal workings of a combination lock. Students will understand the principles of manipulation, become familiar with manipulation aids and gain confidence in manipulation.

Class Description: Most facilities rely on electrified exit hardware for access control, security, and fire life safety. This workshop explores Von Duprin's electrified devices and options designed to protect people and property. Topics include the QEL electric latch retraction device, Chexit® delayed egress device, power supplies and option boards, M996 electrified lever trim, RX and LX monitoring switches, and electric strikes. Participants will gain both conceptual knowledge and practical wiring skills across these product categories.

Upon completion, attendees will be able to select appropriate power supplies and option boards, perform QEL conversions and wiring, convert mechanical 996 trim to electrified, wire electric strikes, connect RX switches to alarm kits, and program the Chexit® device. Class Description: The morning session covers DL Windows Software programming for setting up a Networx wireless locking system, including user configuration, time zones, schedules, gateway discovery, and lock enrollment. Attendees will see demonstrations of sending programming to Networx products and issuing Global Emergency Commands including full system lockdowns across up to 2,000 locks triggered from a PC, a lock, or a four-button remote fob.

The afternoon introduces MVP Access, a cloud-based ACaaS (Access Control as a Service) portal using the same Networx hardware. MVP provides dealers and end users with real-time event reporting and enterprise-level access control, generating recurring monthly revenue for dealers. Smaller systems (8–10 doors) can use the app-based MVP EZ solution, with all hardware enrolled via smartphone camera scan. Attendees will have a chance to win a Networx signal generator and meter kit valued at approximately $900.

Fire door inspection: Things you must know to do it right
